The North Country Fair is an annual two-day festival held on the Arcata Plaza in Arcata, CA every September since its inception in 1974.

Of all the events held on the Arcata Plaza, none quite captures the bongo-thumping, craft-hawking, spin-dancing free spirit of this eccentric coastal town like the North Country Fair. While vendors hawk their wares and arts, amateur magicians, bands and puppet shows adorn the grass.
Many fairs feature music, dancing and a parade. In Arcata, the parades are a little different. A Samba Parade is featured on Saturday and the All Species Parade, where people dress up as different animals for their march, is scheduled for Sunday.
The fair has grown to a two-day festival that includes around 200 craft, food, and information booths, two parades, two stages and a grass performance Area.
An estimated 10,000 people come from everywhere to help us celebrate the diversity within our community and our world and ring in the change of seasons that accompanies the autumnal equinox.
